Seniors/Youth

Chicago 2016 and World Sport Chicago announced the launch of World Sport Chicago Scholars which was created to help Chicago youth prepare for and succeed in college. Through this program, as many as 56 high school student athletes will receive assistance with college access and compete for scholarships for up to $10,000 per year for a total of four years. Third Annual Back to School Extravaganza Update (corrections)
Oops! We forgot to thank a few wonderful people in our September newsletter. We would be remiss if we did not recognize their generosity and commitment to our community. Allen Lang from Lang's Ice (3604 W. 59th St.) donated all the ice we needed to keep our refreshments cold and the food fresh. Ed Sajack from Vitner's Chips (4202 W. 45th St.) provided potato chips for the lunch that was served, and 9th District Officer Charmaine Childs graciously helped out on her day off. Additionally, Officer Cheryl Clark who also volunteered on her off day, is from the 9th District, not the 2nd District as mentioned in the September Newsletter.
